This is my first trial at aquaponics. Unfortunately I started taking everything down in preparation for moving to new land with my tiny house. It might be awhile until I get back into this but the next time I do it will be even better!!
When you get set back up on your new place, consider growing herbs, especially chives, and sell them to your local restaurant chefs with fresh weekly cuttings. A fish farm I used to frequent grew CHIVES in the hydroponics and I believe they made as much money if not more on the chives than they did selling fish. I plan to setup a greenhouse in order to use the graywater from my Texas Sized Outhouse ( www.flickr.com/photos/mbarkley/sets/72157635149774833 ), once I'm finally finished with the new place, and then add a small pool like yours to raise KOI fish for resale to those who have water gardens.
